Priority Access to Future Educators

MPER member districts receive priority access to Mizzou’s preservice teacher education students through strong partnerships with the College of Education & Human Development. These connections provide districts with valuable opportunities to engage with future educators early in their preparation and identify potential hires before they enter the workforce.

Member districts are invited to participate in the annual MPER Recruitment Fair each November, where they can connect directly with preservice teachers interested in launching their careers in Missouri schools.

In addition, many Mizzou students complete field experiences and student teaching placements in MPER districts. Elementary and early childhood education majors participate in a yearlong senior-year experience, while middle school, secondary and special education students complete student teaching placements during the fall or spring semester. These experiences allow districts to work closely with future educators, support their professional growth and build relationships that often lead to future employment opportunities.
