Trainings and Special Interest Groups

MPER supports specialized training and special interests groups to foster professional development, collaboration, and shared resources across partner districts. Recent opportunities have included:

Mental Health Leadership Academy

For more than a decade, the MU Partnership for Educational Renewal (MPER) has supported school mental health in Missouri through the Mental Health Leadership Academy, aimed at building capacity among school mental health professionals, leaders, personnel and other stakeholders. The goal of the academy is to provide tools for school leaders to be more effective in addressing mental health issues impacting achievement.

Special Interest Groups

MPER convenes cross-district groups of education leaders and educators to explore critical issues such as teacher recruitment and retention, Artificial Intelligence (AI), STEM education and rural education. Special Interest Groups are formed in response to interest among partner districts and typically feature University of Missouri faculty as facilitators or guest advisors.

Specialized Trainings

Because of its connection to the University of Missouri’s College of Education & Human Development, MPER is able to provide opportunities for specialized training for MPER districts and teachers. Recent examples of these trainings include Grow-Your-Own Program Development, the PowerUP Rural Science Teacher Education Workshop and AI training for teacher leaders.
